Classes

Dance 101 explores dance in a creative and fun manner.  TDS is the only studio in the tri-state area that has specially designed curriculum that teaches the dance fundamentals while meeting the standards of the Shape America and the NAEYC for physical activity. Age 2 & 3 (30 minutes) Dancers must be 2 years of age by September 30th. 

Hip Hop-Jazz Fusion is a style of dance that combines jazz funk and acro tricks with break dancing to create a high energy routine. Ages 4 and up.

Tap teaches the dancer to make rhythmic sounds with the heels and toes to create a series of steps.  Ages 4 and up.

Ballet is a dance that teaches poise and grace through disciplined steps. TDS teaches the Russian Vaganova method. Ages 4 and up. 

Lyrical/ Comtmeporary  This style combines elements of ballet, jazz and modern techniques to create emotive and fluid routines that tell a story through movement. Ages 10 and up.

Pre-Pointe is a class that prepares a dancer for ballet pointe. The dancer must be at least 12 years of age and have taken at least 2 years of structured ballet technique class. 

Pointe is where a ballet dancer performs on ballet pointe shoes. The dance must be at least 12 years of age and have successfully completely the pre-pointe class. Dancers will be required to take a ballet technique class and the pre-pointe class along with the pointe class.

Leaps & Turns is technique class to help to advance the dancers ability and skills when performing leaps and turns. Ages 6 and up.

Acro is a skills class that teaches the fundamentals of acrobatics. Students will have the opportunity to learn balancing skills such as chest stands and forearm stands, Limbering skills such as bridges and handstands and tumbling skills such as cartwheels, walkovers and handsprings. TDS instructors are certified by Acrobatic Arts. Ages 2 and up.

Choreography is class the TDS offers during the summer session. This class focuses on teaching the dancer short routines in the hip hop fusion, lyrical and contemporary styles.
